Amsterdam’s Newest Hotels – Where Heritage Meets Modern Luxury in 2025

July 3, 2025

Amsterdam’s hotel scene is buzzing with fresh openings and ambitious renovations, blending the city’s rich history with modern flair. If you’re planning a trip or simply curious about the latest in Dutch hospitality, here are some of the most exciting new hotels making waves in 2025:

Rosewood Amsterdam
Opening its doors in May 2025, the Rosewood Amsterdam is a showstopper. Housed in the majestic former Palace of Justice on the UNESCO-listed Prinsengracht, this five-star hotel is the last new development allowed in a monumental Amsterdam building. After a decade of restoration, it offers 134 refined rooms and five signature Houses, each echoing the city’s architectural legacy. Expect immersive experiences, from guided garden walks to collaborations with local artisans, all wrapped in “purpose-led luxury”.

The Diamond
For those who love nightlife and boutique vibes, The Diamond opened in late 2024 right in the heart of Leidseplein. With just 36 rooms, it’s intimate, stylish, and perfectly placed for Amsterdam’s legendary evening scene.

Maritim Hotel Amsterdam
Set to become the city’s largest hotel, the Maritim opens in 2025 with 34 stories and 579 rooms, offering panoramic views of old Amsterdam. Located on the IJ Waterfront, it’s ideal for business travelers and tourists alike, with easy access to museums, canals, and cultural hotspots.

Stayokay Amsterdam Stadsdoelen & The College Hotel
Not just for luxury seekers, Amsterdam’s hostel and boutique segments are getting a refresh too. Stayokay Stadsdoelen, a historic canal-side hostel, reopened in March 2025 after a full renovation. The College Hotel, set in a former 1894 school building, has also had a top-to-bottom makeover, blending classic architecture with contemporary comfort.

With hotel occupancy rates soaring (up to 85% in April 2025) and a calendar packed with international events, Amsterdam’s hospitality sector is thriving. Whether you’re after grandeur, boutique chic, or a revamped hostel vibe, there’s never been a better time to check in.
